However your units are always heading forward at a fixed pace. If conditions change or you find that your plan leads to ruin, you can alter the plan. You plan a course from your starting point to the target and the units follow this predetermined path to the letter and attack any enemy in range. It is like being on the other end of Defense Grid, but you don't get a swarm at your command, just a few units. If conditions change or you find that This game is sold as "inverse tower defense" or "tower offense" and it's exactly what it is. This game is sold as "inverse tower defense" or "tower offense" and it's exactly what it is. Go get it before the publisher finds out and fixes his only error: definitely too low price level. I am utterly satisfied with this product, and I still can't believe it is so modestly priced. Surprisingly it blends very well with Steam philosophy of achievements, therefore building strong potential for re-playability - when played on Steam. I found it very easy to get into, although the story is plain and obvious, it let me focus on tactical thinking and challenged me alright. The game is pure game-play plus some very interesting visuals, it takes you back to gold age of gaming with state-of-the art polishing. So far it's a discovery of the year! Can't believe it costs USD10, when it feels and plays like a USD30 title. There are awards for ruthlessness tho, which are satisfying. Its taken me an hour to get through 6 levels, altho I'll probably go back through on hardcore, once you nail down the strategy you'll find yourself trying to clear the areas completely instead of going with the get the the finish mentality they almost encourage. I'm a big fan of tower defence games, and this is a pretty good example of it flipped over. Its taken me an hour to get through 6 levels, altho I'll I had no idea this would actually be all that entertaining. (I just started the game so I'm not sure if unit types and placements alters your squad movement speed or anything like that, so here's exactly what I had at that point: APC (Level 2), Crawler, Crawler (Level 2), Crawler, Crawler, APC.I had no idea this would actually be all that entertaining. All six will be in it before the first unit leaves it.Īchievement pops a few seconds later so don't be alarmed if it doesn't insta-pop. Wait until the first unit is about to turn the second corner and activate the smoke screen. That's where you're going to put your smoke screen.Īfter clearing out all the enemies up to that point, make sure you have six units and position your commander so that the smoke screen will cover both corners around this little upside-down U. Look closely and you'll see that "scorcher" is standing on an upside-down U-shaped turn. Not the "scorcher" that's alone and further north within the same quadrant. Past the point where you meet researchers and get money (the half-way point of the level), you'll see one of the "scorchers" (the U-shaped enemy) in the upper left quadrant of the map, with some regular towers to the left of it. Load up Mission 3 and take a look at the map. Here's an easy and guaranteed way to do it.
